2019年的一次采访中，格林伍德曾表示：“我更喜欢用左脚来踢点球，而不是右脚，但13岁以后我改变了这个习惯。当时我在一场对阵曼城的比赛中踢得很挣扎，我还用左脚踢丢了一粒点球，自那以后我就开始用右脚罚点球了。”

上赛季格林伍德租借效力于西甲赫塔费，今年夏天他正式转会离开曼联加盟马赛，双方签约至2029年，罗马诺报道转会费为2600万欧元+500万浮动，此外还包括50%的转会分成。
